Rightly so, she enjoys fashion and portrait photography fuelled entirely by her need to drink dangerous amounts of coffee and is heavily influenced by 'gothic couture'. With a background in creative art and film photography, I'm all about candid, natural beauty. She loves what she does and it shows. I would definitely recommend Sara to all of my friends and family. An elective course in photography left her with an abiding love of pinhole cameras and the smell of the darkroom. I received the photos in an adorable package, with 2 discs of photos and a beautiful card, which made my day. I got to know her and her blog when we became pregnant with our little boys at the same time and we met at a Tots100 camp in Birmingham. She brought some great props and a tonne of fresh flowers and I took lots of great pictures and lots of not so great ones too! We worked very solidly and had lots of time to practice what she was teaching us and as it was such a little group she was able to give us lots of one on one help which I really needed! I loved how she told us all her own hints and tips and was very generous in sharing her knowledge. The things she most likes to photograph are; people flicking their hair whilst wearing nice clothes, and yellow sunlight shining through forests.
All food was provided and it was plentiful! She is also enjoying pursuing several creative projects on the side. We are absolutely over the moon! At the end of the wedding experience, we are now left with beautiful memories which are boosted by these beautiful photos, which I will treasure. On the second day we staged an afternoon tea and these cute biscuits from were a huge hit when I got home too! Despite the hardworking stigma associated with Capricorns, Alyssa has a humorous and carefree outlook to life and a flair for fashion both trendy and untrendy. I feel like I've lived our wedding day all over again through your camera lens. I had been to a couple of little photography workshops at various blogging events but I really needed some quality lessons and one on one time to get to grips with my camera properly so when Sara-Jayne posted details of her Family Photography Course I jumped at the chance to attend! I like to capture small quirks of the day that otherwise may go unnoticed.
I have found the whole experience really inspiring and I have loved getting out and about and practicing using my camera on manual more. Sara was always readily contactable and easy to work with. Growing up with a photographer as a father, and working in the industry for several years in Melbourne in the late 80s, photography was the obvious place for Erica to return to, once her three children decided they could look after themselves! Breakfast the next day was a real highlight too — croissants, fruit and chocolate galore! You have beautifully captured so many moments that took me straight back to that day! In her down time she studies Taro and reads a lot, and thanks to her daughter's love of Dora the explorer, is slowly learning Spanish. On the course with us was a lovely lady called Hannah who wanted to improve her personal family photography skills and the very sweet whose Instagram feed I stalk for victorian renovation inspiration! Natalie first studied visual arts at Uni to pursue drawing and painting.
I was so happy with it and learnt so much I felt I had to share it with you. Sara is currently working as an assistant teacher at the Centre for Creative Photography as well as event photographer for the Adelaide Magazine. She's a biased Canon snob, and spent most of her working life serving alcoholics on the weekends. I absolutely adore her blog and her Instagram feed. I hope you have noticed the difference in my photos recently too as I know I have. She drinks too much wine and coffee and can always be found with her Diana and 5 rolls of film in her bag.
