The vehicle came will every possible option that Hyundai offered. It is very comfortable, roomy, and reasonably quiet. Check out other sites; it's scary. The transmission will hold the selected gear rather than shifting automatically. I brought it to a dealership but the issue was never solved.
Interior Slightly wider than the Camry at 71. I looked and noticed that the tail lights do not have a good seal. I never reached this, regardless of my driving style. The four-cylinder is adequate when cruising down the highway, but the V6 models are better for responsive performance. First break set lasted 100K. The driver's seat bottom adjusts from cushy to firm via a pair of knobs on the side, so you can select between softness and support for your legs and posterior.
What Hyundai has done in a short amount of time in this market in the face of consumers who over look their accomplishments is simply inspirational. General Comments: Said it all above. Yes Review Date: 11th October, 2008 Faults: Water leaked into the trunk because the seals were faulty. Manufacturer Info Sources: 1-800-826-2277 -. But only when they finally produce a hybrid or fuel cell vehicle. The upper and lower portions of the instrument panel are dressed in contrasting shades of vinyl. A frame of burnished aluminum surrounds the automatic shifter quadrant, with the Shiftronic manual-override slot alongside.
Hyundai should work to get better service facilities. Had a few minor repairs under warranty except driver armrest wear-through. Oh yeah-please make the car chirp when locking the first time, not just at second push of lock button on future cars. Biggest mistake was Hyundai's choice of sport car tires with only 30,000 tread wear. Rear suspension has difficulty on washboard bumps. The small low-beams are halogen projector lamps that produce a uniformly bright pattern, and the complementary high beams are bright. I want a new car, but can't justify why other than I just want a new one.
It is definitely a disappointment when compared to a friend's 6cyl 2004 Sonata which is everything mine is not- it is reliable, he drives more aggressively than I do and has the 6cyl yet he gets better gas mileage, and since he has the V6 instead of my 4cyl he gets much better performance. The nose dives a bit under hard braking and the rear suspension squats under hard acceleration, but otherwise the Sonata's four-wheel independent underpinnings work well in the daily grind. The styling is distinctive, sleek and rounded with rich-looking details. Stepping on the gas brings a prompt downshift for quick acceleration when passing. Slap the Shiftronic lever to the right and, once there, row it fore and aft to shift up and down manually.
General Comments: The car is really comfortable for a long ride. When equipped with the V6, the Sonata accelerates smoothly and without great drama. The seats are on the hard side and feature minimal side bolstering and support. Even though Kia sells the Sonata-based Optima, it has different front and rear styling. Drivers will immediately feel comfortable and in control. General Comments: A very good and reliable car.
I would not recommend this car to my worst enemy. It also comes with heated mirrors and a power antenna. Got my money's worth many times over. The seat itself is contoured for two passengers, with a folding center armrest between them, but Hyundai has provided three-point seat belts for three people. An example would be changing a headlight bulb; simple right? The only issue has been the outdoor thermometer which was warranty-covered. So the water runs around the trough, and down and inside the lights.
Like jewelry tastefully worn, chrome enhances rather than distracts from the Sonata's appearance. The Sonata's pull-type door handles feel solid. For example on my dad's old Volvo 240, which is also of non-interference design, when he neglected to replace the belt, the belt simply snapped and the car died on the side of the road. Year of manufacture 2004 First year of ownership 2012 Most recent year of ownership 2014 Engine and transmission 2. The gauges are ordinary but easy to read.
Would I buy another Hyundai? The only other thing I've done is changed the oil, brakes and tires. Even though Kia sells the Sonata-based Optima, it has different front and rear styling. My 2004 Hyundai Sonata is now 14 years old! Obviously my Hyundai was produced before gas mileage became and issue because the best I can do is about 24 mpg. Yours had 13 years and almost 90000 miles. I do like the car, but because of disappointing reliability and disappointing gas mileage a typical tank gives me 22-24mpg with the 4cyl and I drive about 30K miles a year I am thinking seriously about replacing it within a year or less. Only complaint: there was always a slight pull on the steering to the right that could not be corrected by realignments, balancing, etc.
